Can I Opt-Out?
According to the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law, drivers do have the option to have their information deleted from the third-party contractor's records. Registrants can ‘opt-out’, by writing to the third party contractor and expressing their wish to have their information deleted.
Below is a copy of FOIL'd information from the NYS DMV regarding its contracts with third parties and where registrants can address a request to have their information deleted.
