Alden, NY — The Town of Alden has secured a $388,532 grant to support much-needed improvements to the Town’s deteriorating salt barn, a critical facility for winter road maintenance and public safety.
The grant effort was coordinated by Deputy Supervisor Gwendolyn Bork, who worked closely with Highway Superintendent Bill Rogers to document the condition of the facility and advance the project through the funding process.
Supervisor Colleen Pautler noted that securing outside funding remains a priority for the Town, allowing essential infrastructure improvements to move forward while minimizing the impact on local taxpayers.
The Alden Town Board will continue to pursue grant opportunities that strengthen Town services and help keep Alden affordable for residents.
