County Clerk’s Office Fosters Awareness with Auto Bureau Outreach
Erie County, NY- Erie County Clerk Michael P. Kearns, in partnership with the Erie County Office for People with Disabilities, will host a special DisAbility Awareness Day on Saturday, October 25, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Erie County Auto Bureau, located in the Urbandale Plaza at 2122 George Urban Blvd., Depew. No appointment is required for this community outreach event.
During the event, individuals with disabilities and their families will be able to obtain state-issued photo identification through the Erie County Auto Bureau, as well as receive assistance with other Department of Motor Vehicles matters.
“October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month,” said Clerk Kearns. “My office continues to focus on inclusion and equity when it comes to assisting individuals with disabilities in obtaining government-issued identification. When employment opportunities arise, we want to ensure they are prepared with the required ID to accept the job. With encouragement and opportunities, I believe inclusion in the workplace is within everyone’s ability.”
Representatives from the Erie County Office for People with Disabilities will also be on site to share information and provide guidance on services, resources, and opportunities available to residents with disabilities and their families.
