Using the free OffenderWatch App, parents can locate registered sex offenders nearby, track the location of their children, get email alerts, and contact this office. For better online safety, parents may choose to add monitoring of their child’s phone. Parents will be alerted should a sex offender contact their child or if the child lingers near an offender’s home.

National Sex Offender Public Registry

National Sex Offender Public Registry (NSOPW) is the only U.S. government Website that links public state, territorial, and tribal sex offender registries from one national search site. Parents, employers, and other concerned residents can utilize the Website’s search tool to identify location information on sex offenders residing, working, and attending school not only in their own neighborhoods but in other nearby states and communities. In addition, the Website provides visitors with information about sexual abuse and how to protect themselves and loved ones from potential victimization.

The New York State Sex Offender Registration Act requires the establishment of a telephone number which employers, parents, children's groups and the general public can call to determine whether an individual is a convicted sex offender who is required to register. Inquiries about individuals on the Registry can be made through the 800 number as described above. No such inquiries will be accepted by e-mail.
