Saratoga Springs, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia announces Undersheriff William J Cooley recently attended the New York State Sheriff’s Association training conference in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Undersheriff Cooley was among Forty-five Undersheriffs from Sheriff’s offices around the state who attended the training conference. The conference provides participants with training in the latest advances in all areas of the Sheriffs' responsibilities and a forum to discuss current law enforcement issues and share best practices.
This year the Association provided presentations on recent law enforcement trends, responding to FOIL requests, endangered missing children, employee corrective actions, programs to deal with infectious diseases in county jails, school resource officers, and traffic safety. The Undersheriffs also heard from Commissioner Thomas Loughren from the State Commission on Corrections.
