TRAFFIC COMPLAINT RESULTS IN FELONY ARREST FOR STOLEN PROPERTY 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of an individual following a traffic complaint and subsequent investigation.

On March 20 at approximately 3:40 p.m., Deputies responded to the area of Bullis and Stolle roads in Elma for a traffic complaint. Deputies located the vehicle near Transit and Bullis roads and initiated a traffic stop.

An investigation discovered the operator, 23-year-old Samuel Martin of Orchard Park, had two suspensions on his NYS driver’s license. The investigation also discovered five spools of copper in the vehicle, which were stolen from a local Home Depot store. 

Martin was arrested and charged with:

•    A felony count of criminal possession of stolen property;

•    A misdemeanor count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle;

•    And four separate violations of New York State Vehicle and Traffic law.

The defendant was released with appearance tickets.
