The Keys Left in the Vehicle
Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of 29-year-old Brianna Duchene of Springville following a stolen vehicle investigation.
Deputies responded to a Springville business on January 26 at approximately 10:25 p.m. for a stolen vehicle report. The victim noted their vehicle was missing from the parking lot and that the keys were left in it.
The Sheriff’s Office issued a countywide “attempt to locate,” and at approximately 11:20 p.m., Buffalo Police responded to a sighting of the vehicle on Broadway. The Buffalo Police initiated a traffic stop at Broadway and Rommel and placed Duchene into custody.
Deputies responded to the scene and arrested Duchene. She is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, a class-A misdemeanor.
Sheriff’s Deputies issued an appearance ticket, and she was turned over to Buffalo Police to face additional charges.
The vehicle was returned to its owner.
