SHERIFF HOSTS SECOND EMPLOYEE WELLNESS EVENT

SHERIFF HOSTS SECOND EMPLOYEE WELLNESS EVENT

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia announces the Erie County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a second Employee Wellness Event on June 29, 2023, at the Erie County Correctional Facility.

This event is the second hosted by the Sheriff’s Correctional Health Division in the past few months. Several vendors will have displays that highlight programs, services, and techniques designed for a holistic approach to the individual’s physical and mental well-being as well as financial and family stability.

“Our first wellness event was held downtown and was met with great enthusiasm and received tremendous reviews,” said Sheriff Garcia. “So we wanted to host a second event at the correctional facility to ensure all our employees could participate.”

The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with five presentations delivered by experts in specific fields to address financial, physical, spiritual, and mental wellness.

Sandra Amoia, 1st Deputy Superintendent – Compliance, stated, “Our staff is our greatest resource. Recognizing that their jobs can be very stressful and demanding, we want to provide our staff a day where they can decompress and relieve mental tension. The ECSO Employee Wellness Event aims to provide some resources and strategies to help improve their overall quality of life.”

Over fifteen wellness experts and local business owners have committed to the event.
