SHERIFF GARCIA INVITES COC FOR MEETING AND FACILITY VISITS

Director of Operations will meet with the New Administration

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia announced today he invited officials from the New York State Commission on Corrections to meet with his administration and visit the facilities.

On January 31 and February 1, Terrance Moran – Director of Operations, will be in Buffalo to meet with Sheriff Garcia, Jail Management Superintendent Michael Phillips, and 1st Deputy Superintendent–Compliance Sandra Amoia. 

Sheriff Garcia stated, “I want to cultivate a new relationship with the COC and increase my administration’s transparency with the agency and the public. Also, I will be asking for the commission’s guidance when implementing new mandates such as the HALT Act and other inmate programs.”

The director will be at the Sheriff’s Office Monday and Tuesday and will tour the holding center and the correctional facility during his time in Buffalo.

This invitation is part of Sheriff Garcia’s plan to transform the Erie County Sheriff’s Office into a professional 21st-century law enforcement agency.
