NARCOTICS AND INTELLIGENCE UNIT ARRESTS BUFFALO MAN AFTER JOINT INVESTIGATION

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia announces the arrest of Mario Pittman, 30, of Buffalo after a joint investigation initiated by the Lackawanna Police Department with assistance from the Buffalo Police Department and FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

 

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on April 30th, Pittman was in the area of South Park Ave. and Olcott Ave. in South Buffalo when he exited his vehicle and led authorities on a foot chase. During the foot chase, Pittman threw a sandwich bag containing crystal powder believed to be suspected methamphetamine into a yard. He was taken into custody shortly thereafter. Pittman has been charged with:

 

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence
  • Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer
  • Reckless Driving
  • Multiple VTL Infractions

 

Pittman was transported to the Erie County Holding Center for processing pending arraignment
