MULTI-AGENCY RAID SEIZES ILLEGALLY POSSESSED GUNS

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the Sheriff’s Office charged 53 year-old-Christopher Plandowski of Lackawanna following a multi-agency raid of his residence.

On August 8, 2023, the Erie County Sheriff’s Narcotics and Intelligence Unit, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and the Lackawanna Police joined the Buffalo Police Intelligence Unit and its SWAT Team to execute a search warrant signed by Judge Kenneth Case at 1419 Electric Avenue.

During the search, officers recovered a stolen .380 auto handgun, a Polymer 80 9mm handgun (a ghost gun), an AR-style rifle with a 3D printed receiver with no serial number, an AR-style rifle with a defaced serial number, and an additional AR-style rifle. Also recovered during the search were ammunition of various calibers and an amount of methamphetamine.

Sheriff’s deputies charged Plandowski with three felony counts of criminal possession of a loaded firearm, a felony count of criminal possession of a weapon – five or more, a felony count of criminal possession of a stolen firearm, a felony count of criminal possession of a firearm, and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The defendant is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.

Buffalo Police initiated the investigation, and it was the lead agency for the operation.
