Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of 39-year-old, Charles Braswell of Buffalo, following an investigation into narcotics sales and distribution in the City of Buffalo.
On April 2nd, 2024, Erie County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) Narcotics and Intelligence Unit personnel were conducting an investigation into narcotics sales involving Braswell. While in the vicinity of 490 Broadway, City of Buffalo, Narcotics Unit personnel did observe multiple suspected narcotics transactions between Braswell and multiple people in the parking lot of the listed address. Braswell was observed coming and going from a gold 2009 Cadillac DTS in between transactions. Additionally, Braswell was observed operating a green 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
On April 3rd, 2024, at approximately 2:00 pm, ECSO Narcotics Unit personnel initiated a traffic stop on the green Jeep Grand Cherokee and detained Braswell without incident. Located on Braswell’s person were: over ½ ounce of suspected cocaine and an undetermined amount of US Currency. In addition to the traffic stop, the ECSO Narcotics Unit executed a NYS Search Warrant, signed by Buffalo City Court Judge Patrick Carney for the gold Cadillac DTS. Recovered from the vehicle was in excess of 4 ounces of suspected cocaine. Braswell was taken into custody and transported for processing.
Braswell (While out on Probation) was charged with the following:
- Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd/Narcotic Drug 4 ounces or more;
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance/Narcotic Drug – Class B Felony;
- Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug w/Intent to Sell (2 Counts) – Class B Felony.
Braswell was transported to the ECHC pending arraignment.
