FENTANYL DISCOVERED ON INDIVIDUAL BEING ADMITTED INTO THE HOLDING CENTER

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports 33-year-old Jacqueline Gilbert of West Seneca is charged with misdemeanor and felony counts following the discovery of fentanyl on her person.

On April 18, 2023, at approximately 5:10 p.m., Gilbert was admitted to the Erie County Holding Center following her arrest by Cheektowaga police. During the admission process, a container was discovered on her person. Jail Management’s Narcotics K9, Artemis, responded to the booking area and gave a positive alert for the presence of a controlled substance. Subsequent to the search, Gilbert admitted the substance was fentanyl.

Gilbert is charged with a felony count of introducing contraband into a prison and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

The individual remains at the Erie County Holding Center on $7,500 bail for drug-related charges from the Cheektowaga Police Department.
