FELON FACES DRUG, GUN CHARGES AFTER BRIEF INVESTIGATION

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of Curtis Taylor, 39, of Buffalo after a brief investigation led to the execution of a search warrant.

This morning, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit, with assistance from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit, Buffalo Police Intelligence Unit and FBI Safe Streets Task Force, executed the warrant signed by Hon. M. William Boller at a residence on Shirley Avenue in Buffalo. Deputies discovered in excess of ½ ounces of suspected cocaine, scales, baggies, a loaded Citadel .45 handgun and a Taurus Millennium G2 9mm handgun. Taylor – who was previously convicted of 1st Degree Attempted Assault in 2004 - was located inside the residence and detained without incident. Two minors were also inside the residence and had access to the suspected cocaine and firearms.

Taylor was charged with the following:

• Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree

• Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree

• Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree

• Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree

• Endangering the Welfare of a Child

• Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree

• Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree

Taylor was transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
