DRIVERS WITH A COMBINED 43 SUSPENSIONS ON LICENSES WERE ARRESTED OVER THE WEEKEND

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of 36-year-old Anthony Maund of Buffalo and 51-year-old Donald Arcara of Eden following traffic investigations.

On June 23, 2023, at approximately 9:07 p.m., deputies performed a traffic stop on Currier-Sardinia Road in Sardinia. Their investigation discovered Maund had eleven suspensions on his revoked license and an outstanding warrant out of Murray County, Georgia. 

Maund was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and was transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment. 

On June 24, 2023, at approximately 2:15 a.m., deputies attempted to stop a vehicle in the Town of Brant, but it fled. Deputies located the vehicle in a parking lot on Brant-Reservation Road and observed the driver exit the vehicle. Their investigation revealed that Arcara’s driver’s license was suspended thirty-two times.

Arcara was arrested and charged with one misdemeanor count each of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and obstruction of governmental administration. He was also cited for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

He was transported to the holding center and was released later.
