DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER CRASHING INTO A UTILITY POLE

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrests of a Boston woman on February 6 following a crash investigation.

At about 10:30 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to a crash scene near 9106 Boston State Road in the Town of Boston. When Deputies arrived, they observed a van embedded in a snowbank and a utility pole with a transformer sheared off and on the ground.

After being evaluated by Boston EMS, Deputies administered standard field sobriety tests to 41-year-old Stacy Salamone of Boston. The field sobriety tests indicated impairment, and a chemical test at the Sheriff’s substation resulted in a BAC level more than twice the legal limit.

Salamone was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI, DWI, and three separate vehicle and traffic law violations. The defendant was released to a sober third party.

NYSEG was notified of the damage and responded to the scene to assess the situation.
