DEPUTIES INTERCEPT SUSPECTED K2 AT ERIE COUNTY HOLDING CENTER

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of two individuals after deputies intercepted contraband from a visitor at the Erie County Holding Center.

 

On April 18th at approximately 7:20 p.m., Kiara Ray, 27, of Cheektowaga entered the Holding Center with the intent to visit Incarcerated Individual Dakota Williams, 29, of Buffalo. Prior to the visit, two bundles of knotted up plastic baggies containing suspected K2, a synthetic marijuana substance, were discovered by deputies on Ray. The contraband was to be passed to Williams during the visit. The investigation revealed that Ray and Williams conspired together to effectuate the introduction of the contraband to the facility.

 

Williams has been charged with:

  • Attempted Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree
  • Conspiracy in the 5th Degree

 

Ray has been charged with:

  • Promoting Prison Contraband in the 2nd Degree
  • Conspiracy in the 5th Degree

 

Williams remained in custody at the Holding Center. Ray was issued an appearance ticket and released.
