CRASH UNIT INVESTIGATING A FATAL ACCIDENT ON WALDEN AVE
Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the temporary closure of Walden Avenue in the Town of Alden due to a crash investigation. Walden, between Wende and Zoeller roads, will be closed so the Sheriff’s Crash Investigation Unit can investigate the incident.
At approximately 3:10 a.m. on March 17, a Sheriff’s Correction Officer assigned to perimeter patrol observed a commercial box truck leave the lane of travel, striking a utility pole and stopping on the bank of Ellicott Creek.
The operator is deceased, and the Sheriff’s Office believes a medical event may have contributed to the incident.
