CONVICTED DRUG FELON ARRESTED FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION & RAID

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports 40-year-old Benjamin Schultz of Buffalo was arrested following a raid by the Sheriff’s Narcotics and Intelligence Unit and the Homeland Security Investigations’ BEST Team.

On March 30 at approximately 10:00 a.m., the law enforcement officers executed a search warrant for the upper apartment of 300 Watson Street in Buffalo. During the raid, the subject, and lone target of the investigation, attempted to flush a quantity of cocaine. The officers recovered the cocaine from the toilet and discovered scales and packaging within the residence.

Schultz, a previously convicted drug felon, was arrested and charged with:

•    Criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell – class-B felony;

•    Criminal possession of a narcotic – class-B felony;

•    Tampering/destroying physical evidence – class-E felony;

•    Two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia – class-A misdemeanor.

The defendant was arraigned in Buffalo City Court on March 31 and released without bail.
