COLLINS DRIVER ARRESTED UNDER LEANDRA’S LAW

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports that deputies arrested 38-year-old Krystal Adams for Leandra’s Law charges on June 24, 2023.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Main Street in the Town of Collins at approximately 10:20 p.m. During their investigation, deputies discovered that Adams was operating the vehicle with a Non-Driver ID and had fifteen active suspensions on her driver’s license. In the vehicle were four passengers, 16 years old and younger. 

Adams failed multiple standard field sobriety tests, was placed into custody, and was transported to the North Collins Substation for a breath test. The test results were a BAC level twice the amount of the legal limit.

Deputies arrested and charged her with a felony count of aggravated DWI with a passenger less than 16 years old, felony DWI, four misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor count of DWI, and three vehicle and traffic law violations.

The defendant was transported to the Erie County Holding Center and later released.
