COCAINE DEALER ARRESTED FOLLOWING A MORNING RAID
The Week-Long Investigation Include Buffalo PD Units
Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of a drug dealer following a raid this morning at a St. Louis Avenue residence in the City of Buffalo.
After a week-long investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Narcotics and Intelligence Unit and assisted by the Buffalo Police’s Intelligence Unit and the Special Investigations Unit, the team applied for and received a search warrant.
On January 21, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Erie County Sheriff’s SWAT Team made entry into the residence and secured Johnny McIver. The subsequent search of the dwelling recovered a large amount of cocaine, a loaded 9mm handgun, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
The 37-year-old Buffalo resident was arrested and charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors.
Felony charges include:
• A felony count of criminal possession of narcotics with intent to sell;
• A felony count of criminal possession of a narcotic – 4 oz. or more;
• A felony count of criminal possession of a loaded firearm; and
• A felony count of criminal possession of a weapon – ammunition feeding device.
Misdemeanor charges include three counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
McIver is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment in Buffalo City Court.
The defendant has a total of three felony convictions, two of which are violent.
City Court Judge Peter Savage approved and signed the warrant.
