Legislator Christopher Greene has represented the Erie County Legislature's 6th District since January, 2021. The 6th District includes the Towns of Clarence, Newstead and a portion of Amherst. Legislator Greene has lived in Clarence since 2006 with his wife Kathryn and four sons. As a family, they are active members of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Clarence.
He understands the challenges small businesses and private industry face. He has been a sales representative for United Business Systems, a locally owned document solutions provider since 2006. Greene was elected to the Clarence Town Board in 2015 and 2019 where he served a total of five years.
“My goals as Legislator are rather straightforward. Crumbling roads are a major problem throughout Erie County and need to be addressed sooner rather than later. I believe that providing safe roads is a basic responsibility of government. During my five years on the Clarence Town Board, I delivered five consecutive budgets below the New York State tax cap and reduced the tax rate by more than 10 percent over that timeframe. I will continue to work to minimize the tax burden on the residents of Erie County.”
Since joining the Legislature, the 6th District lawmaker has advocated for infrastructure funding, tax relief for the hard-working residents of Erie County, and responsible allocation of taxpayer dollars.
Legislator Greene attended Canisius High School and is a 1999 graduate of Union College. He served on the board, is a past president, and longtime member of the Rotary Club of Clarence, has coached house and travel baseball and manages a hockey team. He is USA Hockey coaching certified and is an assistant hockey coach for his son's team.
