The Supervisor and Town Board members completed the 2023 Preliminary Budget and have filed it with the Town Clerk's Office. There is a public hearing scheduled at the November 9, 2022 Town Board meeting at which time the 2023 Adopted Budget will be voted on.
The 2023 Preliminary Budget represents a slight decrease in the General Fund Tax Rate, the rate is $0.734251 per 1,000 of assessed valuation. The amount to be raised by taxation for General Fund is consistent with the 2022 Adopted Budget. Again, as in previous Budgets, there is no pay raise for myself and the Town Board members. With the national inflation rates at historic highs the Town Board was committed to not having these increases burden the tax payers, by slightly increasing allocations we were able to help offset the rising costs and to maintain some of the lowest tax rates in Erie County.
The Town Board is committed to running a fiscally conservative government and keeping our tax rates low, we thank our Department Heads for managing their expenditures. We also thank the Fire Companies for coming in with their contract requests at, or under, the Tax Cap.
Once again, our 2023 Preliminary Budget is under the NYS Tax Cap.
