Waterway of Change Exhibit: A dynamic, interactive exhibit at the Longshed that explores Buffalo’s Erie Canal history through multimedia presentations, immersive experiences, and storytelling. Review the Visitor Experience Plan and Brief here: 

Erie Canal Boat Seneca Chief: A full-sized replica of the original Erie Canal boat, built by the Buffalo Maritime Center. The Seneca Chief will embark on a Bicentennial Voyage from Buffalo to New York Harbor in 2025, commemorating Gov. DeWitt Clinton’s 1825 inaugural journey. Erie Canal Turns 200: A signature event series from Memorial Day Weekend through September 2025, culminating in a weekend of events on October 26, 2025, marking the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal’s opening.

Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor: The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, in partnership with the National Park Service and numerous local, state, and federal partners, works to preserve and share our extraordinary heritage, to promote the Corridor as a world-class tourism destination, and to foster vibrant communities connected by the waterway.
