STAR (School Tax Relief)
NEW for 2016
New STAR applicants will receive a credit in the form of a check directly from NYS instead of receiving a school property tax exemption.
New Basic and Enhanced STAR applicants need to register with the New York State Tax Department to receive a STAR check. Visit www.tax.ny.gov or call (518)-457-2036 for further information, deadlines and eligibility requirements.
All other exemptions continue to be administered by the Assessor's Office. The deadline for filing the exemptions listed below is MARCH 1st of each year.
Volunteer Firefighter/Ambulance Workers Exemption
