Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro announced primetime funding has been approved for various organizations in his district. The Girl Scouts of WNY, Great Falls Council, Inc.- Boy Scouts of America, Be A Friend Program Inc.-Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and Southern Tier, the Boys and Girls Club of Elma, Marilla, and Wales, and the Town of Cheektowaga all received ten-thousand dollars for summer programming.
“The summer months are often challenging for parents who want to keep their kids safe and active but may be working or have other responsibilities. Primetime programming gives our young people an opportunity to participate in activities with their peers. By socializing and staying active, their summer experience is enriched,” said Legislator Todaro.
The summer activities are supervised by adults. These organizations partner with the Department of Social Services. The funding comes from the Youth Bureau’s 2025 operating budget.
“They do great work keeping our kids safe and engaged and I’m pleased to support these organizations,” said Legislator Todaro.
