Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro kicked off Italian-American Heritage month by presenting a proclamation to members of the Italian-American community in Western New York.
Students, local leaders, members of the Federation of Italian-American Societies of Western New York, and other community members gathered at St. Anthony’s Church Tuesday for a ceremony to mark the occasion.
Legislator Todaro said, “I’m proud to recognize October as Italian-American Heritage month on behalf of Erie County. This is an opportunity to celebrate Italian culture and learn more about the many contributions Italian-Americans have made throughout our community. The kickoff ceremony had some great remarks as well as performances by some very talented students. I’d like to thank Peter LoJacono and Pietro Mendola for organizing such an important event.”
