Legislator Todaro's July 2025 Bee Column

I hope you enjoyed your Independence Day festivities.  There was a fantastic turnout for Depew’s first-ever July 4th celebration and the fireworks display was tremendous.  It was also my great honor to walk in Lancaster’s annual 4th of July parade.  It was well attended, as always.  It was wonderful to see so many of you.  Marilla also had a terrific fireworks display.  Independence Day is a great way to kick off summer in Buffalo.  Our season is short, so it’s important to make the most of every day.  I hope you are enjoying your summer.  Please stay safe and have fun.

We are in the middle of road construction season.  There are some projects I would like to make you aware of.  These include: Townline Road from Westwood Road to Broadway in Alden will have a full road closure through September 5 for the bridge rehabilitation project.  Detours will be posted. In Lancaster, William Street from Lake Avenue to Siebert Road and Bowen Road from Brunck Road to Hall Road will be down to a single lane from 7:30am to 5:30pm until September 1 for utility work.  In Cheektowaga Maryvale Drive from Beach Road to Cayuga Road will be down to a single lane until November 21 for mill and overlay work.  I welcome you to be my eyes and ears in the district.  If you see a county road with an issue that makes it unsafe, please reach out to my office.

I had the opportunity recently to tour the new stadium and see how construction is progressing.  The facility looks amazing, and the hard-working men and women who have logged hundreds, if not thousands of hours in getting the stadium ready for the 2026 season should be commended.  We have a great union workforce here in Western New York.   I can’t wait to attend my first game in the new stadium, and I know we are all hoping it will soon be called the home of the Super Bowl champion Buffalo Bills.

I’m thrilled that the Village of Lancaster will be hosting porchfest next month.  The event will be held Saturday, August 16th from 12-5pm, rain or shine.  I hope to see you there.

The recent tragic flooding in Texas that led to significant loss of life was heartbreaking.  I know that so many families and communities were impacted and so many are now grieving the loss of a loved one.  My heart goes out to them.

If you have a county related question or concern, don’t hesitate to contact my office at (716) 681-2071 or by email at Frank.Todaro@erie.gov  Thank you for the privilege of serving you.
