Clarence Modern Zoning Code

Public Informational Meeting

CLARENCE, NY – The Town is working with planning consultants at CPL on an update of the zoning code in an effort to modernize regulations. These updates will make the zoning code easier to use and understand, be better aligned with community planning goals, and be more responsive to current land use trends.

This process initially started with a deep analysis of the code itself, interviews with stakeholders, and review of various community-developed documents, primarily centered around Clarence 2030, the Town’s Comprehensive Plan.

Work has occurred on structural, administrative, and formatting improvements together with the integration of regulations into a single Unified Development Code (UDC). Work is now commencing on zoning districts, uses, and design standards.

As part of this process, the Town will host a public informational meeting on Tuesday, June 16 at 6:00 PM to highlight this effort, explain its purpose and importance, and give residents, business owners, and other stakeholders an opportunity to learn more about the importance of local zoning regulations.
