Town of Clarence Adds Six New Pickleball Courts

Responding to the huge interest in pickleball, the Town of Clarence has doubled the number of courts available to residents. Six new courts have been added to Town Place Park, bringing the total to an even dozen.

“Our six pickleball courts were often at capacity,” said Town Supervisor Patrick Casilio. “Adding six new courts means players will spend less time waiting for an available court.”

The courts are lit and are open during normal park hours. They are available to Town of Clarence residents on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not taken.

According to USA Pickleball, “A pickleball court is the same size as a doubles badminton court and measures 20×44 feet. In pickleball, the same court is used for both singles and doubles play and the court is striped similar to a tennis court.”

Pickleball is exploding in popularity. The Sports & Fitness Industry Association says more than 13.6 million people played pickleball across the U.S. in 2023, a 65% increase from 2022.
