Fireworks in the Park March 20, 2026 Meeting Notes

Meeting attendees:

Dawn Kinney, Veronica Jenks, Jason Holden, Supervisor Casilio, Sarah Goodyear, Bill Weisbeck, Ashley Denison and Dan Michnik.

Marty Helowicz, Dawn Snyder, Dan Cummiskey and Dave Wind were not able to attend, however, they provided their updates that are included in my notes.

Items Discussed;

1.  Dawn Kinney (Youth Bureau) - All set with face painting, kids tattoos, red white and blue streamers, kids zone area.  Expect to have 20 to 25 kids volunteer.

2.  Veronica Jenks (Eagles Wings) - Will again MC the event and will work with Patrick with the music, kids entertainment, has arranged Brianna (sp?) to sing the National Anthem and / or America the Beautiful.  Is there any other another singer that we can ask?

3.  Jason Holden (Superintendent of Parks) - Jason provided the full list of his required actions last year and he will make sure that these same items are taken care of this year.

- In addition, will order 5 to 6 portable potty's so that we will not have any lines at the restrooms.

4.  Supervisor Casilio - all set with the music again this year, will purchase an inexpensive laptop to make sure that there are no delays with the way that the music plays, will work with Highway to have No Parking signs put up on Hillcrest Drive, will bring his own generator as back up, will talk to Al Wolbert to schedule the town security, will talk to Terry Dickerson at the American Legion to see if they will be interested in doing their "Salute" just before the Nation Anthem, will add a  "Save the Date" to the towns website for our 29 June event date and the 30 June rain date.

Also, should we order larger golf carts so that we can use them as "people movers"?

5.  Sarah Goodyear (St. Paul's Church) - All set with the baked goods, asked to be in the same location in the pavilion as last year.

6.  Bill Weisbeck (Lions club) - Waiting to hear back about the food.  Suggested that the soccer and softball do hot dogs on the grill, and the Lions do the pizza.

*Additional information was provided by Dan Cummiskey regarding this food issue after this meeting.  Details are provided below.

7.  Ashley Denison (Girl Scout Troop 33411) -

Ashley originally asked to have her troop do the clean up, but based on the girls being 3rd and 4th graders, we all agreed that this will not make sense.  Ashley still wants her troop to be involved.  We need to determine where they can best fit in.

8.  Dan Michnik - Will be there to support the event wherever he can.

9.  Bob Altieri -

- Sheriff Reeves was contacted and will attend with his team.
- Town Security Permit and 2026 Public Safety Plan will be completed.
- Will complete paperwork for sign at entrance to the park.
- Determined that we have 2 to 3 sheets of plywood at the town to use as backers for our new signs.

Information from our other committee members that were not able to attend this meeting;

10.  Marty Helowicz (Clarence Citizens for Veterans) - All set with the beer and the required permit and insurance.

11.  Dave Wind / Dave Swarts (Boy Scout Troop 93) - All set with the parking for both June 29th and the June 30th rain date.

12.  Amy Engler (Clarence Chamber) - All set with the popcorn and the sale of glo necklaces.   The glo necklaces will be sold at one location in the main field just before the fireworks.

13.  Dawn Snyder (Clarence Community Foundation) -

- Bounce Houses have been ordered.
- drinks and concessions are all set.
- Chick-fil-A sandwiches have been ordered.
- backup for the Photo Booth is being investigated.
- asked Chrissy Casilio for Facebook image for the save the date.

14.  Dan Cummiskey (sports food coordinator and Clarence Fire Company)

- Food is all set.  No one from Girls softball, Soccer or Boy's baseball can attend these meetings because they are all at work.  Dan will continue as their spokesperson.

- soccer still wants to do the pizza.  They have committed to be there for both Monday and the Tuesday rain date if needed.
