Dear Resident,
Please be advised that leaves/brush should not be placed in the road. Placing leaves in the road is a public safety hazard for pedestrians, bicycles and can disrupt the flow of traffic in and out of our residential areas. We understand this is a very widespread issue in our town and we are doing our best to educate the residents of the dangers of placing yard waste in the public roadways.
Yard Waste Guidelines:
- Leaves and brush must be kept off the Road.
- Leaves and brush must be in separate piles.
- No grass clippings, dirt, garbage, construction debris or manufactured wood will be picked up.
- Brush should be placed parallel to the road and be no longer than 8' long.
- There is a two truckload maximum per month for brush pickup. No lot clearing or contractor generated yard waste will be picked up. This is the responsibility of the contractor.

For details about yard waste pickup schedules and a map of our brush zones please go to the Highway Department page on the town's website at www.clarence.ny.us or call our office at 741-3210. We appreciate your cooperation, it helps ensure a timely and efficient process.
Thank you,
James A. Dussing
Superintendent of Highways
