The Village of Alden Department of Public Works started in 1897 with the organization of a Board of Water Commissioners. From that beginning, the department has expanded to provide a wide variety of services to the Village. Currently the Department of Public Works is responsible for refuse & recycling pick-up, water & sewer services, street & sidewalk repair & maintenance, municipal building maintenance, snow removal, street lighting, parks, storm sewers and shade trees.
