Kathleen Contrino

Kathy Contrino, retired professor and attorney, promotes the use of native plants in residential gardens to improve ecological diversity. She has been growing native plants and designing native plant gardens since 1997. Kathy, former Master Gardener (Orleans County), NYS Master Naturalist trainee, and University Express instructor is currently working on her certification in Medicinal plants, Kathy has been recreating the Great Lakes ecosystem on her 14 acres in Akron, NY and participates in the open gardens section of the Gardens Buffalo Niagara. Additionally, Kathy owns and operates the CW Native Plant Farm and CW Native Botanika. Kathy's approach is centered around her clients taking the time to understand their unique needs and preferences. She sources organically grown native plants and herbs from the farm's expansive 10-acre property, while also collaborating with trusted organic growers.
