Jim van Oss retired in 2024 after a 39-year career at Moog, where he led major advancements in aerospace engineering, digital transformation, and product lifecycle management (PLM). He developed an enterprise-wide PLM strategy centered on a “Bill of Information” data model, enabling broad implementation and integration with manufacturing and business systems. He served as Group Vice President and Chief Information Officer, leading ERP selection, IT standardization, and acquisition due diligence. Earlier roles included engineering leadership and hands-on design work supporting the Space Shuttle, Space Station, and satellite propulsion systems. A mechanical engineering graduate of the University at Buffalo, Jim has taught engineering courses and remains active as a trustee of the Niagara Air & Space Museum and a member of UB's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Advisory Board. He is also a dedicated community leader, former Scoutmaster, lifelong hockey player, and avid handyman with a passion for learning.
