Dan Wilke

Dan Wilke became fascinated by mechanical musical instruments starting at age 3. The interest started to become serious and he started collecting at age 9. He obtained his first street organ 40 years ago this year, and has enthusiastically entertained at Buffalo's Broadway Market organ grinding for 38 of the last 40 Easter Seasons. Other related interests include antique carousels, amusement parks and roller coasters. Dan was one of 12 people who helped move the carousel now at the Herschell Museum in North Tonawanda from London, Ontario Canada 44 years ago, and also co-founded the Western New York Coaster Club that same year. For 23 years, he has been a proud committee member and volunteer at the Olcott Beach Carousel Park where he lovingly looks after their two Wurlitzer band organs and operates the carousel.
