Assistant District Attorney Brian Dassero

Brian Dassero began his career as a prosecutor in the Erie County District Attorney's Office in October 2007. For more than 15 years of his career, Assistant District Attorney Dassero has been assigned to the office's Special Investigation and Prosecutions Bureau, which is responsible for the investigation of financial crimes, such as embezzlement, fraud, identity theft, tax evasion, and elder financial abuse. Assistant DA Dassero has successfully prosecuted crimes against senior citizens, including “grandparent scams,” healthcare aide thefts, mail and check fraud, and criminals who posed as legitimate technical support assistants. In 2024, Mr. Dassero was recognized by the Council on Elder Abuse and received their “Exemplary Service” award for his dedicated work to protect older adults, prosecute the offenders, and obtain justice for crime victims.
