Adam Kowalyk / Andrea DeRousseau

Adam Kowalyk serves as the Aging & Disability Resource Representative for the Erie County Department For the Aging. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Empire State College with a concentration in Community and Human Services-Mental Health. He is trained in Solution-Focused Trauma-Informed Care and is a Certified Prayer Minister through A Deeper Walk, International's School of Ministry. It's been a blessing for Adam to dedicate more than 25 years to public service with the County of Erie, including 21 years with the Department of Social Services HEAP Division. For the past two years, he has served in his current role as the ADRR, where he oversees NY Connects and HEAP Outreach. Adam is committed to advocating alongside his colleagues for some of the county's most vulnerable populations, approaching his work with deep passion and a strong sense of purpose. -Andrea has been employed with Erie County for over 16 years. She has worked in a few different departments which include the Auto Bureau, Department for Social Services, and for 5 years combine with Department for the Aging. She has her Bachelors degree in Community and Human Services and is also certified in Mental Health First Aid. She has worked with people of all ages and backgrounds. For the last 2 years, she has been part of the Caregiver Team and helps facilitate respite services for those caring for loved ones with memory impairments. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and animals.
