Erie County Parks, Recreation & Forestry's Joshua Konovitz, Forester

As the Erie County Forester, Joshua is responsible to manage and help maintain the forests and trees throughout the 10,000 acres of the Erie County Parks system. The forests are so much more than just the trees and caring for all this also involves environmental compliance, invasive species management, protecting our soil and water resources, and supporting the wildlife habitat within the parks.
Joshua brings to the Erie County Parks more than a dozen years of professional experience in ecological conservation and restoration. He has a BS in Restoration Ecology from Buffalo State College and is pursuing a graduate certificate in Forest Resource Management from Paul Smiths College. He is a certified ecological restoration practitioner with the Society for Ecological Restoration and is dedicated to providing management solutions that are sustainable and benefit the ecological communities that he is responsible for.
