Sarah Sanford is the ECLIPSE Coordinator for Erie County, where she leads efforts to connect residents with community solar, reduce energy costs, and promote energy equity. With both a B.S. and M.S., Sarah began her career as an academic researcher before moving into environmental consulting to help communities navigate complex environmental challenges. She also spent a decade as a high school science teacher, helping to shape science curriculum for one of the nation’s largest school districts. Since stepping into her current role in February 2024, Sarah has helped more than 2,000 Erie County residents begin the ECLIPSE enrollment process—bringing over 3,400 megawatt-hours of solar power to local households and saving participants roughly 10% on their electric bills. Sarah is passionate about closing the energy equity gap and ensuring cleaner, more affordable power reaches those who need it most.
