Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro attended the unveiling of West Dawson Park’s new inclusive playground for which he helped secure funding to build. Now, children of all ages and abilities will be able to enjoy the experience of playing on a playground in a safe and accessible environment.
Legislator Todaro said, “I’m thankful for all the people involved in this project who helped make it a reality. This playground is another step forward for our community and region to make it accessible for all. I’m proud to have helped facilitate this great addition to West Dawson Park and look forward to seeing more built around our county in the future.”
This park has wheelchair accessible picnic tables, an inclusive swing, a generation swing, sensory activities and a Dura Turf safety surface. The ribbon cutting was attended by officials representing the Village of Depew including Mayor Kevin Peterson, Deputy Mayor Audrey Hamernik, Trustee Andrew Adolf, Trustee Jacqueline Kucewicz, Legislator Todaro and Assemblymember Wallace.
