Welcome to the official website of the Erie County Shared Services Panel.
The FY 2018 New York State Budget included a new Shared Services Initiative designed to generate property tax savings by facilitating operational collaboration between local governments. The initiative establishes a Shared Services Panel made up of every mayor and supervisor of the cities, towns and villages located within Erie County. It is charged with developing, and ultimately approving, a County-wide Shared Services Property Tax Savings Plan by finding new opportunities to share and coordinate services among local governments.
This Initiative had been extended for three additional years to include the annual development of a 2020, 2021 and 2022 Shared Services Plan.
As indicated by Section 239-bb of the County-Wide Shared Services Initiative (CWSSI), as of January 1, 2022, each county outside of New York City is granted the choice in whether to participate in the CWSSI. County CEO’s are no longer required to annually convene a Panel and develop a new plan or revise and update a previously approved plan.
