LEGISLATOR MILLS ANNOUNCED 2023 ERIE COUNTY ROAD PROJECTS

Erie County Legislator John Mills (11th District) today announced that many infrastructure issues in the district he represents are to be addressed in the 2023 Erie County road program.  A total of $50 million will be invested in county road projects, which includes $5.4 million in federal aid and $23.9 million in borrowed funds.

“The list of issues that need to be addressed is never ending,” said Minority Leader John Mills.  “It’s necessary to make investments in our infrastructure so that we can keep the roads as safe as possible for the public.”

Roadwork to be done in the 11th District in 2023 includes:

  • Mill and Overlay: Shadagee from Route 20 to Route 62
  • Mill and Overlay: Taylor Road from Eckhardt to N. Boston
  • Cold Recycle/top course Treatment: Gowanda Zoar from Foster to Unger
  • Cold Recycle/Top course Treatment: Newton from S. Abbott to Route 277
  • Cold Recycle/Top course treatment: Pfarner from West Hill to West Tillen
  • Oil and Chip: Collins Center Zoar from Foster to 39
  • Oil and Chip: Langford from Brown Hill to New Oregon
  • Oil and Chip: Shirley from New Oregon to 75
  • Oil and Chip: Warner Gulf from Allen to Matterson Corners
  • Oil and Chip; Marshfield from Route 62 to Route 75
  • Oil and chip; Echhardt from Route 75 to Heinrich
  • Oil and chip: North Boston from Route 391 to East Eden
  • Oil and chip; Milestrip from Reservation line to Route 62
  • Oil and chip; Bennett from Route 5 to Old Lakeshore
  • Oil and chip; Dennis from Bennett to Old Lakeshore
  • Engineering project: Back Creek road slide
  • Overlay: Michael Road, Route 240 to Route 277

In addition, repair work will be done on several area bridges.

“Infrastructure issues are the greatest concerns among the people I represent. We have more road miles to maintain than some states.  We can’t afford to neglect them.  I’m glad to see there are a number of issues being addressed this summer; issues that are a source of many complaints. Hopefully this work will help alleviate the concerns of many residents,” concluded Legislator Mills.
