LEGISLATOR LORIGO TOURS KNOX FARM TO VIEW COUNTY FUNDED PARK ENHANCEMENTS

EAST AURORA-Erie County Legislator Lindsay Lorigo recently toured many of the improvements being made at Knox Farm State Farm, upgrades made possible through Erie County grant funding.

“The Friends of Knox Farm State Park are grateful for the continued support from the Erie County Legislature.  After several years of negotiations and planning, and with Legislator Lorigo’s guidance, we are happy to have begun repairs on the iconic stone wall along Buffalo Road, a major improvement at Knox Farm made possible through a generous grant from Erie County.  As we approach the centennial celebration of the former polo stables at Knox, we have invested thousands of volunteer hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars into the adaptive reuse of this unique spade.  That work began with an Erie County grant, enabling us to replace the uneven and unsafe flooring along the center of the stable’s walkway. Legislator Lorigo’s annual visit with The Friends allows her to stay updated on our many initiatives and to check in with our dedicated volunteers,” said Kathleen York, Friends of Knox Farm State Park Executive Director.

“Knox Farm State Park is a beautiful place and the funding made possible through Erie County helps to ensure the needed upgrades are made so that Western New Yorkers can enjoy it for generations to come.  I’m proud to help support this true jewel in East Aurora.  It is a popular place to simply walk and enjoy the scenery or participate in the festivals and events hosted at Knox Farm throughout the year. If you have not yet been, Knox Farm is worth the visit, especially as we approach the Fall season,” said Legislator Lorigo.

Knox Farm sits on 633 acres and is located at 437 Buffalo Road in East Aurora.
