WEST SENECA- Erie County Legislator Lindsay Lorigo has secured county funding for the West Seneca Historical Society. The money will go towards display cabinets and frames, ultimately improving the storage and preservation of their many artifacts.
“It’s important to protect the items that represent West Seneca’s rich history. This funding ensures proper preservation so that future generations will have the opportunity to view the collection and learn the history of this town,” said Legislator Lindsay Lorigo.
“We really appreciate this money, that’s for certain. We need funds to operate and that money is going for the display cases which will help safeguard the artifacts when they are on public display,” said Gene Hart, President of the West Seneca Historical Society.
The museum itself was built around 1850. The collection includes items from the Senecas and other Indian cultures, as well as artifacts from other settlers.
