Legislator Lorigo Secures Funding for Camp Ska-No-Ka-San Improvements

Erie County, NY — Erie County Legislator Lindsay Lorigo has secured county funding to support improvements at Camp Ska-No-Ka-San, providing campers with a new basketball hoop that is already being enjoyed during this summer’s camp season.

Lorigo recently toured Camp Ska-No-Ka-San in Holland, where she met with campers and staff and saw firsthand the impact of the investment. Operated by the Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora, the camp serves more than 600 children each summer, offering opportunities for recreation, outdoor adventure, leadership development, and personal growth.

“The support Legislator Lorigo has provided both at the camp and at the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora these past few years is so appreciated by both the staff and the more than 600 kids that we serve each summer,” said Camp Director and Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora Site Director Neil Parrish.

The county-funded basketball hoop adds another recreational activity for campers alongside the camp’s wide variety of programs, including swimming, boating, fishing, archery, hiking, arts and crafts, ropes course challenges, sports, and team-building activities.

“It was great to be back and see the campers already enjoying the new basketball hoop installed through county funding. I was proud to secure this money and see this investment put to good use by so many kids. The incredible team at the Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora do a great job running this summer camp each year, working with the campers to build their confidence, learn new skills and make lifelong memories,” said Legislator Lindsay Lorigo.

Camp Ska-No-Ka-San is situated on 175 acres in Holland and is affiliated with the Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora. The camp serves children entering grades 2 through 9 throughout the summer, providing a safe and engaging environment where young people can build friendships, develop confidence, and create lasting memories.
