LEGISLATOR GREENE ANNOUNCES DISTRICT ROAD PROJECTS FOR 2023

Erie County Legislator Chris Greene (6th District) announced today that several county road projects in his district will be completed this road construction season. 

“We know how tough Western New York weather is on our infrastructure.  Our roads take a beating, and that creates hazardous driving conditions.  This roadwork needs to be done to ensure the safety of our residents,’ said Legislator Greene.  A total of $50 million dollars will be invested in Erie County roads and bridges for 2023.  That includes $20.7 million from Erie County funds, $23.9 million in borrowed funds, and $5.4 million in federal aid.

The projects to be completed this summer in the 6th legislative district include:

  • Mill and Overlay: Tonawanda Creek from Bear Ridge to Hopkins
  • Oil and chip; Cedar from Route 93 to Niagara County line
  • Oil and chip:  Koepsell from Route 93 to Cedar
  • Oil and chip:  Swift Mills from cedar to Greenbush
  • Oil and chip; Greenbush from Rapids to Swift Mills
  • Oil and chip; Indian Falls from Scotland to County Line
  • Oil and chip: Meahl from Route 93 to SanHill
  • Oil and chip; Fletcher from Rapids to Tonawanda Creek
  • Oil and chip; Burdick from Tonawanda Creek to Rapids

There will also be a $3 million investment in federal aid over two years for North French and County Road bridge replacements.

“This work re-invests in our communities.  Safe roads and bridges are essential to the betterment of our towns and villages. The improvements address some of the quality of life issues facing my constituents,” said Legislator Greene. Work is set to begin later this Spring.
