Three Documents Available for Public Review and Comment; Public Hearing Scheduled
ERIE COUNTY, NY— Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz announced today that a public comment period is now open to review the County’s Draft 2025 Action Plan for Community Development funding, the 2025-2029 Five Year Consolidated Plan for Community Development and an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice Study (AI).
“Citizens can provide input on these draft documents that will guide Erie County’s Community Development priorities for not only the 2025 program year but the next five years,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz. “Community input helps to inform decisions on how funds are used to improve infrastructure and helps to guide development investments countywide. I encourage residents to review the documents, add input, and attend the public hearing to have their voice heard.”
These documents outline the Erie County consortium’s goals and objectives relative to housing, economic development, community development and homeless issues with specific attention given to the needs of low/moderate households residing in the consortium communities. The following municipalities comprise the CDBG Consortium: Cities of Lackawanna and Tonawanda; Towns of Alden, Aurora, Boston, Brant, Clarence, Colden, Collins, Concord, Eden, Elma, Evans, Grand Island, Holland, Lancaster, Marilla, Newstead, North Collins, Orchard Park, Sardinia, Wales and West Seneca; Villages of Akron, Alden, Angola, Depew, East Aurora, Farnham, Gowanda, Lancaster, North Collins, Orchard Park and Springville. The HOME Consortium includes the above communities as well as the Town of Hamburg and the Villages of Blasdell and Hamburg.
A public comment period on the draft 2025 Action Plan, the 2025-2029 Five Year Consolidated Plan and the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice Study is open from January 10 to February 10, 2025. The Draft documents can be viewed on the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning’s website at https://www3.erie.gov/environment/press/public-notice-2025-action-plan .

A public hearing has also been scheduled to discuss the draft Action Plan for 2025, the 2025-2029 Five Year Consolidated Plan and the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice Study (AI). The public is encouraged to attend the hearing, which will be held on Tuesday, January 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lackawanna Public Library Community Room, 560 Ridge Road, Lackawanna.
