ERIE COUNTY SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR THE ERIE COUNTY ARTS & CULTURAL ADVISORY BOARD

Erie County is seeking community-minded individuals to serve on the Erie County Arts & Cultural Advisory Board (EACAB), which provides recommendations for the County's Cultural Funding Program supporting nonprofit arts and cultural organizations throughout Erie County.

The Board welcomes applicants who are passionate about strengthening the region's arts and cultural sector. Ideal candidates are Erie County residents with professional experience or expertise in areas such as accounting, finance, banking, education, arts and culture, law, workforce development, tourism, strategic planning, philanthropy, nonprofit management, or other relevant fields.

The primary responsibility of Board members is reviewing grant applications submitted by nonprofit arts and cultural organizations. This work requires careful attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a significant time commitment during the second quarter of each year.

Successful candidates should be prepared to take an active role in the work of the Board. Experience reviewing financial statements and budgets, nonprofit governance or management, written communication, and independent project work are valuable qualifications. Training, reference materials, and review guidance are provided to all Board members.

Board members serve three-year terms beginning January 1. The Board meets at least four times annually, with additional meetings scheduled as needed during the grant review process. Additional information on Board responsibilities can be found here and a description of Board duties is available here .  Board membership is subject to county policies and procedures and the Board's Conflict of Interest Policy.

Interested Erie County residents are encouraged to submit a resume and brief letter of interest by October 1, 2026. Resumes will be retained on file for up to three years and may be considered to fill future Board vacancies as they arise.
