ERIE COUNTY DONATES FLAGS TO BUFFALO AND ERIE COUNTY NAVAL & MILITARY PARK AHEAD OF FLAG DAY

Poloncarz joins Paul Marzello to Present Ten Flags, Including a 30’ x 60’ U.S. Flag, to Park

ERIE COUNTY, NY— Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz today joined President & CEO of the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park Paul J. Marzello, Sr. at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park to donate flags for the Park’s use during upcoming Flag Day observations. As part of the annual donation this year Erie County is presenting ten flags to the park, including a giant 30’x60’ U.S. flag, seven 3’x5’ U.S. flags, a South Korean flag, and a POW/MIA flag.

“The Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park is a solemn spot to remember and honor the heroes who defended our freedoms, and the donation of these flags is Erie County’s way of saying thank you to them for their service,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz. “Flag Day is a perfect opportunity to reflect on our service men and women while reaffirming our belief in the flag and all it stands for.”

“The mission of the Naval and Military Park is to Honor, Educate, Inspire and Preserve,” said President & CEO of the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park Paul J. Marzello, Sr. “These flags will aid us in completing that mission and I thank Erie County for this donation.”

Flag Day, celebrated on June 14, commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.
